My name is Elaine, a University of Edinburgh graduate and recipient of a Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF), a certification of French-language abilities for non-native speakers administered by the French Ministry of Education.
I lived in France for several years, was a French language assistant at a secondary school near Lille and worked for a short spell in Strasbourg. I have always loved the French language, style and culture and really enjoy using my language when travelling to France for business.. and of course leisure!
Experienced in French tutoring young people and adults in Edinburgh and in France, I offer a flexible and friendly approach to sessions with a personalised lesson plan for each student.
As a parent myself, I appreciate the value of tutoring to build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and refine exam strategies for the Scottish curriculum. As a tutor I want to help my students feel self-assured in using the French language and discover that French can be fun.
